There are several different fluids in your vehicle that it needs to work efficiently. While they don’t necessarily change during the winter, some are certainly more important during the winter months. Antifreeze

Antifreeze is added to a vehicle to help regulate the engine’s temperature. It helps keep your engine’s cooling system from freezing when it gets too cold out (or overheating in the summer). It’s added to your vehicle’s radiator.

Motor Oil

Oil doesn’t usually freeze during the winter, although it is affected by the cold. Generally, it gets thicker when it gets cold, so it won’t be able to flow as freely. When that happens, it won’t lubricate your engine correctly, which can lead to engine damage.

Brake Fluid

Your brakes are especially crucial in the winter months when the roads are already slick to begin with. However, brake fluid can also thicken in cold temperatures, restricting it from working as it should. Keeping an eye on your brake fluid in the winter is essential to avoid a brake failure.

Windshield Wiper Fluid

While many people think of windshield wiper fluid for dusty springs or summer bugs, they’re just as crucial for winter ice and slush. Ensure your fluid is full to properly and quickly clear your windshield. You also want to ensure it doesn’t have too much water, which could lead to your wiper lines freezing.
