You may have seen electric vehicle charging stations around town already, and if you haven’t yet you most likely will in the near future. With more and more vehicle’s going electric, the demand for charging stations is going up. We’re here to tell you that finding a charging station is easier than you may think.

Level Two Connections

All-electric vehicles are compatible with a standard level two power connection. Unless you have a DC fast charging station at home, this type of connection is probably how you normally charge your vehicle.

While not the fastest of charging stations, level two connections can provide drivers with about 20 to 25 miles of range per hour of charging. This will allow electric vehicles to become fully charged over the course of the workday, or overnight.

These charging stations are the easiest to find, as they are the most plentiful. Simply visit a locator website like PlugShare, Open Charge Map, or ChargeHub to find the closest station to you!

DC Fast Charging

If you’re looking for even more juice with even less charging time, you’ll want to go for a DC Fast Charging connection. These charging stations are less plentiful than Level Two charging stations but can provide up to 80% of your vehicle’s charge in as little as 30 minutes.

All-electric Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, and RAM vehicles utilize SAE Combined Charging Systems (CCS), which are typically a part of the EVgo or ChargePoint networks. After signing up for either network, you will have full access to their respective charging stations.

So now that you know you won’t ever be stranded with a depleted battery, come by Bernard’s Northtown Chrysler Dodge Jeep® RAM to check out our selection of plug-in hybrid electric vehicles. We’ll get you out on the road!
