2023 RAM Truck Towing Capacity
If you can’t decide which pickup truck is right for you when you see the new RAM trucks for sale at Bernard’s Northtown Chrysler Dodge Jeep® RAM, maybe you need to learn more about their capabilities. One of the most critical specs for pickup drivers is towing capacity. How much can each RAM truck tow, and what affects its capabilities? Our knowledgeable dealers can tell you.
2023 RAM 1500
The 2023 RAM 1500 is our smallest truck, but it’s more than capable of handling the towing needs of most people. A 3.6-liter Pentastar® V6 engine is standard on most trim levels. This allows the RAM 1500 to tow up to 7,730 pounds.
If that’s not enough heft, upgrading to the 3.0-liter EcoDiesel® V6 engine or the 5.7-liter HEMI® V8 engine is an option. The diesel engine allows the 2023 RAM 1500 to tow up to 9,600 pounds. The HEMI® engine ups the towing capacity to an exceptional 12,750 pounds.
2023 RAM 2500
If you need more power and towing capacity, the 2023 RAM 2500 might catch your attention. It’s available with two potent engines, one gasoline and one diesel. The 6.4-liter HEMI® V8 engine allows this truck to tow up to 17,540 pounds. The 6.7-liter Cummins® turbo diesel inline-six engine increases towing capacity to 20,000 pounds.
2023 RAM 3500
This model is the largest among our traditional pickup trucks, and it’s called the “Heavy Duty” for a reason. A HEMI® V8 engine allows the 2023 RAM 3500 to tow an impressive 18,210 pounds, but if you want to show off, you need to ask about the available diesel engines.
The Cummins® turbo diesel engine ups the towing capacity to 22,670 pounds. The high-output version of this engine allows the 2023 RAM 3500 to tow an impressive 37,090 pounds.
