Fix Scratches on a Car
Sometimes we don’t always notice a scratch on our car, which can be frustrating. The most common scratch a driver will find on their vehicle is a pesky clear coat scratch. However, there are ways to fix it! Below are the steps on how to fix scratches on a car for the clear coat type:
- Determine if the scratch is deep or not by running your fingernail across it. Whether it catches or not will determine how deep it is, but either way it can still be fixed.
- Clean the area with a towel and soapy water to ensure that there is no debris.
- Place a piece of tape over the scratch to make it visible.
- Spray the scratch with water then sand the scratch down by going against the grain with 3000 or 5000 grit sandpaper. Repeat until the scratch disappears.
- Clean the scratched area with a microfiber towel by using a “fine” swirling polish motion until satisfaction.
- Add wax and a protective layer to protect your clear coat and paint.
