Which is Better: the Chrysler Pacifica vs. Honda Odyssey
Your family deserves the best, safest minivan available. There are many options out there, but we recommend the Chrysler Pacifica. Compared to the other minivans available on the market, such as the Honda Odyssey, the Chrysler Pacifica is simply a cut above. The Chrysler Pacifica is our pick here at Bernard’s Northtown Chrysler Dodge Jeep® RAM due to its outstanding performance, cargo space, and a suite of safety features.
Performance
The Chrysler Pacifica comes equipped with a 3.6-liter V6 engine with up to 287 horsepower and
a nine-speed automatic transmission.
This engine provides all the power you need with superior handling thanks to fully automatic all-wheel drive, electronic stability control, and adaptive cruise control. If you want a more environmentally friendly minivan, there is a hybrid option available: the Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid.
The Honda Odyssey comes with a V6 engine with up to 280 horsepower and a ten-speed automatic transmission. The Chrysler Pacifica has slightly higher horsepower and more handling features, making it a better choice in terms of vehicle performance.
Interior
The Chrysler Pacifica boasts Stow ‘n Go seating and storage that increases floor space to make room for more cargo when the seats are folded down. It also provides convenient storage bins for below-floor storage when the seats are up. You can bring everything you need for your trip with the impressive towing capacity of up to 3,600 pounds.
The Honda Odyssey does have up to 158 cubic feet of cargo space, but it does not have the coveted Stow ‘n Go feature. Additionally, the Honda Odyssey’s towing capacity is 100 pounds less, coming in at 3,500 pounds.
Safety
Like each of our new Chrysler vehicles, the Chrysler Pacifica comes with a wide array of safety and security features. In fact, the Chrysler Pacifica comes with a whopping 115 standard and available safety technologies.
- Pedestrian automatic emergency braking system
- Full-speed forward collision warning with active braking
- LaneSense® lane departure warning with lane keep assist
- Blind-spot monitoring system
While the Honda Odyssey has a solid amount of safety features, it simply can’t compete with the Chrysler Pacifica.
The Chrysler Pacifica comes out above the Honda Odyssey in nearly every category. Come visit our Chrysler dealership in New Richmond, WI to test drive the Chrysler Pacifica today.
